Qila Raipur (Punjab): Bhagwant Mann attended the concluding ceremony of the renowned Qila Raipur Rural Sports Mela, where winners of the historic bullock cart race were felicitated. The traditional race resumed this year after a gap of 12 years, drawing massive public participation and enthusiasm.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described sports as a powerful symbol of brotherhood and unity. He emphasized that sports should always remain above politics and serve as a platform to strengthen communal harmony and rural culture.

During the event, CM Mann announced:
- ₹1.5 crore for the overall development of Qila Raipur village.
- Construction of an Astro Turf ground for Six-A-Side Hockey, aimed at promoting rural sports infrastructure.
✈ Tribute to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha
The Chief Minister also highlighted that the airport at Halwara has been named after freedom fighter Kartar Singh Sarabha as a mark of tribute to his sacrifice and contribution to the nation.
